Watermelon Thank You Cards

Hello, everyone!  I've got another JoysLife.com Design Team project.  This week we are featuring two of her super cute stamp sets : Yummy Puns and Popsicle Puns.

I can always use thank you notes and never have them around when I need them.  I created these simple cards that can be mass produced if need be.

I really like how they came out even though the design is simplistic. These are 3x3 inches finished. Can you believe that I have never made this size of card before?  I do love the small size!

I used Yummy Puns for this project.  Joy just got a bunch back in stock so you can get your own set here.

Now for the details on how I made these:
Cut a card base 3"x6" and fold it in half.  Round the corners and adhere a piece of 2"x3" background paper to the top of the card.   Cut your watermelons to fit the card. (I used my Cameo for this but any watermelon image will do.)  Score the green rind at every interval to add some texture.  Add some Glossy Accents to the seeds.  Tie a bit of twine around the card and through a button.

For the finishing touch, stamp Joy's "Thanks A Melon" saying on the bottom.

That's it!  You'll have a bunch of your own cards made in no time!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments.  I hope you have a great day!

Flower Tin

Hello, all!  Today I've got a tin project for you!

If you follow Joy's Life's Design Team blog, you can tell from earlier posts this week, we are featuring fun tins.

This mini paint can tin is super cute!  It's about 2.25" tall and 2.5" wide.  Just enough big to put something little & special in it!

I love this stamp!  It's from Joy's Tag You're It - Set Two that she released earlier this year.  If you want to, you can grab the tins and rubber stamp set here

I found this paper in my stash and love the colors so much that I didn't want to overwhelm it with a lot of embellishments.  All I did was add some distress ink and glitter to spice it up a little bit.

Well, that's all for me today!  I hope you enjoyed my simple project. Have a great day!

Summer Penguin Shape Card

Hello, everyone!  This week at JoysLife.com, the Design Team is featuring shape cards.

These are so much fun to do. I love the look of this surfer penguin that screams SUMMER!!!

Pun In The Sun has easily become one of my favorite Joy's Life stamp sets!

You can get your grab your own  set here.

Once again, I used my trusty Silhouette to create this card.  The penguin SVG comes from My Scrap Chick and I used my cutter to outline the shape and weld them together to form the base.
Most of the card is made from scraps of paper I had but the base is from Echo Park's Hello Summer line. I used an embossing folder, glitter, and ink to add some fine touches to the card.

We'll that's it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments.  I really do appreciate them!

Hope you are having a great Summer!

Joy's Life Recipe For Fun Blog Hop!

This is Patty welcoming you to the Crafty Kitten for Joy's Life's Recipe For Fun Blog Hop!  Her Design Team has put together some yummy recipes and projects for you!

If you hopped over from Maria, then you are in the right place.  If you stumbled upon this post click here to start at the beginning.

I've got a condiment set and recipe for Easy Teriyaki burgers for you!

Once again, I used my Silhouette for these projects.  The cute picnic table SVG is from SugarGem and the condiment holder is from My Scrap Chick's Caddy Essentials set.

I thought this saying from Joy's Tag You're It - Set One stamp set was a nice way to welcome people to your BBQ.  It also works if you want to give this to someone who is hosting a BBQ for you.

All the papers I used for this project, including the recipe card come from Simple Stories 100 Days Of Summer paper line.

Easy Teriyaki Burger Recipe

5 Hamburger Patties         1 Can Of Pineapple slices
5 Hamburger Buns             Kikoman Teriyaki Sauce
5 Slices of Cheddar Cheese
Marinade hamburger patties in Teriyaki sauce.  (The longer, the better)  Grill burgers and pineapple rings until done. Top with cheddar cheese.  Serve on buns with Mayo if desired. Enjoy!!

Aloha Cutie Card

Aloha, everyone!  I hope you are having a great day.

This week at Joy's Life's Design Team Blog, you are being treated with projects made with the Pun In The Sun stamp set.

For my project, I couldn't resist making this Aloha cutie and featuring her on a Center Step Card!

The word, Aloha, can be used in many ways in your projects to say hello, goodbye, or love. Want your own set of Pun In The Sun stamps?   You can get it here!

I made this card using the Mahalo SVG's from Lettering Delights and my Silhouette.  You can make a Center Step card with a scoreboard but I instead drew it on my Silhouette and let the cutter do the work!

The patterned paper is from Echo Park's Hello Summer pack.  I dressed up the hibiscus flowers with a touch of Stickles glitter and embossed the tree to add some texture.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my card for the day.  I appreciate any comments you leave.

Mahalo!

Flip Flopping Fabulous Box

Hello, everyone!  Hope you are doing well.

Life here in Colorado Springs is starting to get back to normal after the Waldo Canyon Fire.  We were lucky we didn't get evacuated.  My thoughts often drift to those who lost everything and to the great firefighters that have been working around the clock to save our beautiful forests.

For some fun, today I've got a Joy's Life Design Team 3-D project for you.

When I saw Joy's newest stamp set, Pun In The Sun, I knew I had to make one of these boxes! (I only wish I could wear it!)

I know of a few nieces that would love to receive one of these!

This is one of the many fun sayings that are part of this set.

If you don't have this SUPER sweet stamp set yet, you can get one right here!

I used my Silhouette to create this.  I bought the file from SVG shop.  (Last I looked, it was a FREE file, so go grab yourself a copy!)  I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to put together!

The papers I used are from 3 Little Bugs Ellie paper collection. (I was lucky to grab some from my LSS at $.25/sheet...what a deal!!) The large flower was an image on one of the papers that I cut out, popped up, and added Glossy Accents to the center to make is shine.

I'm glad you stopped by today!  I appreciate any comments you leave.
