Quick Thank You Card

I needed to make a quick Thank You card and wanted to use the stamp set, Ewe Are The Best, from My Favorite Things. along with Lawn Fawn dies and paper.  I'm still learning how to use my Copic Markers and it's a lot of fun playing with them.

The wonderful thing about clear stamp sets is not only do you get a lot of images and sayings for a great price but you can bend sentiments if needed.   Now, I need to make sure that I put the card in an envelope and pop it in the mail!

How Time Flies!

I didn't realize until now that it has been over 6 months since my last post!  Thankfully, things have been going well.  I've been busy with work but I still make time to do some crafting.  Here's a pretty quick card I made using Lawn Fawn's Flamingo Together and Life Is Good stamp set.

My embossing gun was broken when I tried to heat the embossing powder.  I had to go Old School and use the toaster to heat the letters up.  (Yes, there was a time before embossing guns! LOL!)

I hope you have a great day!!

Paris Cross Stitch

Hi, everyone!  I hope you have been having a good summer.  I can't believe it is August already.  It's been hot here in Colorado and I discovered that cross stitch was the perfect hobby for this weather.  I'd sit in the living room under the ceiling fan and stitch away.

I started cross stitching years ago and put it down for 15 years.  Last year I started picking up some great magazines from the UK again.  It was a happy moment when I opened up my Longaberger Picnic basket and found all my floss clean, organized, and ready to use.

This past May, I got to spend a week in Paris with my sister and brother in law.  After that trip,  I decided that I'd start stitching some of the places that I've been lucky to have visited as a special memento.

This pattern is from the Cross Stitch Crazy magazine.  What drew me to it is the vibrant colors.  I still need to get it framed but at least all the hard work is done.

Is there a hobby that you put aside for awhile and returned to it later?  I'd love to hear what it was.

Purrfect Pair Card

I know it has been ages since I last posted to my blog.  I've still been crafting here and there but just not taking the time to blog about it.  I like to dabble in many hobbies so lately, I've been knitting and  cross stitching instead of paper crafting.  (I guess I should share those projects with you all.)   If you feel like it, drop by Facebook and like the page, The Crafty Kitten.  I've been sharing some of my projects there.

Here's a card I made awhile back using Mama Elephant stamps.  When I saw the Purrfect Pair stamp set,  I knew it was one that I just had to have.  I used Copics for color and Lawn Fawn paper for the background.

I hope you enjoy it!

Kitty Friend Card

Hi, everyone!  Thought I'd share with you a quick 3x3 card that I made using Joy's Life's Lot's Of Pun, Paper Smooches' Nine Lives stamp set, and washi tape.  I sent one to Joy to show my appreciation for letting me be part of her wonderful design team.

I had fun coloring these images and the 3x3 format seems to work well for me.  I'll be making more of these in the future.

Hope you have a good week!

A Very Belated Blog Hop Winner!!

Wow!  How can it be that my last post was in August?   Time sure does fly!  Well to give you a update as to what I've been up to, I decided to take time off from blogging and focus a little more on work and other hobbies.

In September, our house was one of many that experienced flooding during the heavy rains in Colorado.  While we were VERY fortunate to still have a roof over our heads, there was a lot of work to be done since our basement was now a wall to wall carpet soaked mess.  We decided that we could handle doing all the flooring and painting ourselves....so that's what became my next project!

Here are shots of the hallway and family room after we finished it.

We also did two more bedrooms and the storage room for a total of 1000 sq ft.  It was lots of work but it was really gratifying!  So gratifying that we started work in the living room painting the second fireplace and having a wood stove installed.   (Isn't that how things go?)

You guys have waited so long so without further ado, the winner of this blog hop with her choice of any Joy's Life stamp is:

Claire, please email me your mailing address to Crafty_kitten@mac.com and choice of Joy's Life stamp and I'll get it out to you ASAP!

Thanks to everyone who dropped by.  I hope the past few months have been kind to you!

I have been working on some paper crafts and hope to get some posted on my blog soon!

Take care,

Patty
