"Inspired By" Blog Hop Hosted by JoysLife.com

Hello!  Glad you can join us for Joy's Life's "Inspired By" Blog Hop!

If you came over from Maria then you are in the right spot.  If you stumbled across this post and want to start hopping from the beginning, you can do so here.

I must have been hungry when I got my inspiration for this hop!  I remembered seeing these cool Rainbow cakes and figured with all this color, I ought to be able to create SOMETHING!

With Easter right around the corner I used pastel, instead of primary colors for my project.

Here's what I came up with!

It's a neat candy container stamped with sayings from Joy's Everyday and Holiday Occasions sets.  If you'd like a set of your own, grab them here.

Now for a look at the backside of the mug.  (I know I could have added something to the candy sleeves but decided that the mug would be the main focus.  It was also getting a bit cramped after I stuffed all the sleeves in.)

For this fairly simple project, I covered a glass mug with papers and stickers from Doodlebug's new Flower Box collection.  I then stamped "Happy Easter" with Memento's Rose Bud ink and added a brad to the center of the flower on banner.   I then wrapped twine around the handle to spice it up a little.  M&M's were sorted by color and then packaged in 1x8 cellophane bags to give the rainbow effect.

OK, you've stuck with me so far so...

Give Thanks Pumpkin

Hello!  Today for Joy's Life, I've got a 3D project for you!  For this week's post, I thought I'd make an amigurumi pumpkin and embellish it with one of Joy's wonderful stamps.

As you can see, this saying from Joy's It's All Fall Puns set goes perfect with my pumpkin.

I love how it adds a special touch to the leaves.  If you don't have this wonderful rubber stamp set, you can get yours here.

I learned how to make amigurumi items by watching videos on YouTube.  Here's a link to one of the many helpful videos out there.   It's pretty simple thing to do.

The leaves were cut with my Silhouette. I inked the  edges and stamped them with Joy's stamps.

I think if I have time, I'm going to try to make these for my siblings and give them out on Thanksgiving!

Thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate any comments you leave!  Hope you have a nice day.

It's All Fall Puns Blog Hop starts today!

Welcome, everyone to Joy's Life's It's All Fall Blog Hop!

If you came over from Maria, then you are in the right place.  If you happened to stumble across this post and want to start at the beginning, you can do so here.

Joy has released yet another stamp set full of witty and fun sayings!  This time it's Fall and it's the focus of this blog hop! :)

I thought I'd combine a couple of my hobbies for this blog hop.  I picked up my crochet hook and after a few rough starts trying to remember how to crochet an Amigurumi project,  I made this!

Amigurumi is the combination of Japanese words that mean crocheted or knitted stuffed dolls.

I used my Silhouette to cut the box from SVG Cuts Carmel Apple Pie set but made it smaller to fit my pie. The paper is from Imaginisce.

(Here's a tip:  I didn't have enough paper to make this project since this is an older release, so I used my copier to make me some more!)

Want to try to crochet one of these cute pies?  You can buy the pattern here.

I just love this stamp!  It made me laugh when I got it. If you are dying to pick up your own set of these fun stamps, you can do so here!

*** Now how about some Blog Candy??? ***

I'm going to give away a set of It's All Fall Puns to a lucky hopper!

Now for something entirely different...

Hello, everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I haven't been able to work with paper crafting that much this past week. The yard & flower beds have been demanding my time lately. With all the heat we've had, I've been getting a jump start on mulching the beds.

Anyways, I thought I'd post a pic of my most recent Amigurumi project. It's crocheting in the round and another one of my hobbies. I was in a colorful mood at the time so instead of a black & white penguin, I jazzed him up a bit!

Hope you are all having a great Friday!
