Using Sizzix Texture Plates In Your Cuttlebug
Hello, Everyone!
I was at my local Joann's store today and found this pack of Sizzix texture plates in the clearance aisle for $.97....yes, you read it right, $.97! They normally retail for approximately $10.
I bought it even though I do not have a Sizzix Big Shot. With a few adjustments, they can be used in your Cuttlebug. Check out the helpful video HERE for how to do it.
I have to pick up the rubber gasket sheet from Lowes for $.99 and then I am set to go!!! I just wanted to pass this along in case any of you see these plates for sale and think you may have to buy a whole new machine to use them!

Aloha Hula Girl Card
Aloha!!
I am just LOVING Lettering Delights!!! They just came out with 2 Hawaiian SVG sets that are chock full of tropical themed cuts. When I saw this hula girl, I knew she'd be one of the first cuts I made. She is from the Mahalo set and so is the palm tree. The sun is from the Luau Cricut cartridge. They stamped Aloha is from Lizzie Anne's Garden Aisle set.
Just for the hey of it, I'm going to enter her in the following challenges:
Whimsical Wednesdays #15 - Use Your Scraps
Paper Cutz Challenge # 101 - Anything Goes
Craft Junkie, Too TGIF Linky Party #17
Mahalo!!
A very small portion of my scrap pile...these colors were used for the scrap challenge.

Nancy Kubo Aloha Cutie Card
I have to say that Create A Critter is probably one of my favorite Cricut Cartridges. It was quite awhile after it came out that I found out the designer is Nancy Kubo. I did some searching on the internet and found the Aloha Cuties graphic set. Problem was the website had just shut down and her products were no longer available. I waited a few weeks, did a search, and found that Cat Scrap was carrying her art. Needless to say, I snapped as much I could find of her stuff up!
I converted the hula girl graphic using Vector Magic (they allow you to do 2 free conversions) and then cut her out with my Expression. The file is not perfect but good enough! I think she came out SUPER cute! This is my first stab at a center stair step card.
Thanks for stopping by! Like always, I read all comments left on my blog and really appreciate them!!
For the fun of it, I am entering her in the following challenges:
Cooking with Cricut #41 - Anything Goes
My Craft Spot #16 Ink It Up Challenge
Die Cutting Divas #23 Summer Fun

Christmas In July - Iris Folded Card
Celebrate The Occasion is currently hosting a Christmas In July challenge where you are not to use the color red.
Whenever I buy Christmas paper, I tend to purchase very nontraditional colors. When I saw this paper, I had to add it to my stash. I decided to use Iris Folding which looks pretty complicated but in actuality is very simple. Since I wanted to focus on the folding itself, I kept the rest of the card pretty simple and added a hint of glitter.
I like the way that this card ended up.
Thanks A Melon! Card
Hi, Everyone!
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summer! It's been really hot here so I decided that I would stay inside and play in my hobby room!
I've been wanting to make a card using this cute saying and finally got around to it! The watermelon on the Simply Charmed cartridge is soooo cute so I knew he would be the one I used. I didn't have the saying in a rubber stamp so I used a cut from the Just Because Cartridge. The frame is from Lacy Labels and I welded a circle on top of it to get the cutouts to look the way they do.
The card swivels open...a technique that I don't think I've ever used and I really like how it turned out. I finally used some of that great twine and the Polka Dot embossing folder. Let me know what you think!
I'm going to enter it in the following challenges:
Cricut 360 Challenge #2 - Round Thank You Card
My Creative Time Throwback Thursday #209 Wild Card or Just Because Cartridge with Embossing

Kitty Card made with my E2
Finally, I get to enter a challenge! I've been MIA for quite awhile due to it being Summer and all that goes with it...traveling, gardening, laying under a fan because it's too hot to do anything else!!! The weather has cooled down a little bit here in Colorado and we have FINALLY gotten some rain! Yea!
I thought I'd better use the E2 that I bought because, like my Imagine, it has not been getting used lately! I have to say that I am getting used to it and it's not too bad. Part of the reason I bought it was because it had this cute kitty image that was part of the pre-loaded cartridges (Cricut American Alphabet). The card is 4.25x5.5 and the rubber stamp saying is from Cat's Pajamas.
I am going to enter it in the following Challenges:
Cooking With Cricut Challenge # 41 - Anything Goes

DeNami Rubber Stamp Winner!
I was so excited when I checked my Google Reader that I had won DeNami's Designs drawing for their Halloween Stamps!!! They are having a new stamp release and there were multiple ways to win.
Not only have I been collecting these stamps over the years, I am also crazy about their new release!! Their booth is the one that I spend the most money in when they come out to the Scrapbook Conventions in Colorado partly because Nami does live demos which always get me hooked!
