Multi-color Embossing

Hello, everyone!  This week on JoysLife.com we've been creating embossed projects.  If you've been following the DT Blog the past few days, you've seen some really neat ideas!

I thought I'd break out my brayer, embossing folder, and some Kaleidacolor Ink. 

This is a fun stamp and it comes from Joy's It's All Fall Puns set.  I know my in-laws from Missouri will love the saying!

What you need for this technique is a brayer 

 

 ink pad ( I used Desert Heat for this project) 

  

and embossing folder (I bought this Craft Concepts Lollipop Trees embossing folder at my local stamp store)  

 

  

I loaded up the brayer with ink and applied it to the inside of the folder.  I then added a piece of paper to the folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug.  It's as easy as that!

Leaf Easel Card

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday.  As you can tell from earlier Design Team posts this week, we're celebrating Fall and the changing/falling leaves that comes with it.   

I've had this adorable pic of one of my nieces taken YEARS ago that was just stuck on my wall.  I decided it needed special treatment.

I used SVG Cuts Carmel Apple Pie set and my Cameo to create this.  The paper is from Recollections Autumn paper pack from last year.  It caught my eye because it uses blue in the pack.  Not a common fall color and I love it!  Even though it's technically a card, I'm going to leave it out on my mantle as a picture frame.

Fall Picture Frame

Today, I've got the last JoysLife DT post of the week of home decor ideas.
  I don't know about you, but I've got so many pictures taken over the years that are in boxes or on the computers.  I need to get more of them out on display.  

I decided to make a frame of my beloved, Patches.  I think this is a good way to display this sweet pic of him enjoying the Fall sunshine.

The stamp I used is from Joy's NEWEST stamp set, It's All Fall Puns!  

I just LOVE these stamps!  Lots of possibilities!

For this project, I used my beloved Cameo, again.  I used the 3D Beveled frame and combined it with the 3x5 farm frame that I resized to fit.  A little wrestling with the frame and it was assembled.

Happy Fall Door Hanger

Hello, everyone! Hope your Fall is going well!

I wanted to share with you a door hanger that I made recently. I used files from SVG Cuts Pick A Pumpkin Set for the centerpiece. You can use it as a card but I thought they were so darn cute that I wanted something I could hang in the house for all to see. This was the first time I designed the base using Sure Cuts A Lot. It was super simple but after the project was done, I realized I made the hole a tad too large. Oh, well! I decided not to cut it again and just go with the original.

This was the first time I tried to photograph a project in the evening in my craft room with some new bright daylight CFL bulbs. There are some shadows but I think it came out pretty well. I just had to do a minor temperature adjustment on the photo to catch the correct color scheme.
