Robin's Creative Cottage Holiday Linky Party with Prizes!!

Hello, All!
I am excited today because Robin over at Robin's Creative Cottage is hosting a Holiday Linky Party this week! What fun since you can do whatever project your heart desires! Up for grabs are a couple of her SUPER cute rubber stamps sets!!

I've been thinking about doing a snow globe for quite some time. Since we haven't been getting much snow here in Colorado, I thought this would be a great project..and maybe it will bring us some of that powdery stuff!

The saying I used on this card came from Robin's Snowman's Prayer stamp set. This snowman's home is his snow globe! (If you haven't purchased this stamp set already, you can get it HERE!)

I broke out my Silhouette Cameo for this project. The globe was sized at approximately 4.5" and I used the Offset feature to create the shaped card. I cut the globe background and snowman's scarf & hat from Bo Bunny's Winter Joy line. I had some shiny paper from Hampden Papers laying around from all the years I worked for a paper company and used that for the base. Other supplies used were:

Glossy accents
felt snowflakes
ribbon
glitter paper
brads
Stickles
Versamark Ink
white embossing powder

This will be the last Link Up/Challenge this year at RCC. You have until January 2nd to link up and be eligible to win one of Robin's stamp sets! We hope you can join us HERE!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year To All!

We'll be starting up again on January 3rd!

Robin's Creative Cottage Challenge #3 - Ribbons & Bows

Sorry I haven't made many posts lately. I've been busy decking the halls of my home! I have several paper projects in progress and managed to complete one to share with all of you.

Today is Robin's Creative Cottage Challenge #3. The challenge this week is to create a project that uses ribbons & bows. I love using these as embellishments because they can add a lot to your project.

I was in Winter mode so I thought I'd create a project using the Snowman's Prayer set.

Here's my card! I used LOTS of glitter and embossing powder to jazz it up. This particular snowman went very well with the "You're So Cool!" saying.

Closeup of embossed paper behind snowman

Here are the details as to how I made the card:

Saying is from Snowman's Prayer Rubber Stamp Set (If you are interested in picking up this set, it's a great time since they are on sale NOW)
Red card stock is 9" x 6.25" and folded in half
Bo Bunny Tis The Season Paper was cut at 4.25"x6" and 3.25"x4" for the mats
Snowman is from Smiley Cards cut at 3.5"
Red Scallop is from Elegant Edges Flower 3 cut at 4"
Round Top Tag is from Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More (pg 90) cut at 1.75"
Other supplies used: Maraschino Twine, buttons, red ribbon, Stampin UP Real Red ink

To get the shiny embossed look behind the snowman, I inked the Cuttlebug Snowflake folder with Versamark. I then embossed the paper. After wards, I sprinkled embossing powder and heated it. I then cut a circle out of this paper and mounted it to the red scallop. It gives it a shimmery effect!

Be sure and visit Robin's blog to purchase your stamps and post your project! I enjoy seeing what everyone creates!!!

For the fun of it, I'm also going to enter this card in Cardz TV Challenge #96 - Say It With S

Robin's Creative Cottage First Link Up Party!!!

Hello all you paper artists out there!

I'm so excited since today is THE day of Robin's Creative Cottage FIRST Linky Party!!! The challenge this week is to create a project that is your choice! These can be really fun since you can do whatever your heart desires!!!

For my project today, I wanted to make some fun Cocoa Holders. This is what I came up with...

Closeups

They open up like a matchbook (and I found BLUE cocoa pouches for the inside!)

Closeup of the inside saying from the Gingerbread Holiday Set

Here are the details as to how I made these:

You'll need BOTH of the stamp sets for this project ;)
You can purchase them HERE
Cut the solid blue cardstock to 4" x 11 3/4" and score at 1", 6.5", and 6.75"
Stamp "Freezing Season" on the front in black ink
Secure snowflake brads to the front of the packets (These will help hold the packet closed)
Cut the Gingerbread Men at 4.5" on my Cricut (File is from My Scrap Chick) but there are several similar images available from Cricut
Each GB Man is accented with stickles, glossy accents, hand stitching, and dry embossing for the scarves
Line the inside with the packet with any paper you wish (I also cut some snowflakes Nestabilities to accent the saying on the inside)
Stamp the "Gingerbread" saying with black ink and cut out with Oval Nestabilities
Put a packet of your favorite cocoa mix inside & they are ready to give out!

I'd like to say thanks to everyone who participated in the Blog Hop and a big welcome my new followers!! It was a lot of fun reading what your favorite Christmas goodie is!

And now for the winner of the Gingerbread Holiday Stamp set:
