Joy's Life Fun Card Folds Birthday Blog Hop!

I'm so glad you could stop by the Crafty Kitten for Joy's Life's Fun Card Folds Birthday Blog Hop

This will be my last Blog Hop post for awhile as a member of Joy's team so it's a little bittersweet.  Everything's going ok...I'm just taking a little time off to craft for the holidays and do some traveling.  :)

If you came here from Lori's blog, then you're in the right place.   If you stumbled on this post, and want experience all the fun from the beginning, you can start here.

For this hop, I decided to do what I call a Modified Gate Fold Card.  Here's a pic of it closed.

Here's what it looks like when you swing the gates open.

The stamp I used is from Joy's Yummy Puns set.  You can grab your own set here.

To create this card, start with a white base. Cut the pink paper at 11.5" x 4" and score it at 2 7/8 x 8 5/8.

Tape a scalloped Nestability to the paper and run that side through your CuttleBug.  Tape it to the other side of the gate and run it again. (You can't tell from my pics but I managed to emboss each side with a polka dot folder.)

For the frame on the front, use two of the scallops at the same timeAfter adhering it to the front of the card, carefully cut the frame in half.  Embellish the inside to your taste. (I cut the inside scallop slightly larger than the window.)

*** Now how about a chance for some GREAT Blog Candy as a reward for staying with me through this long post?? ***

Cupcake Cat Card

Hi, everyone!  Thanks for stopping by!  Today I have a Friend Shaped Card for you on behalf of JoysLife's Design Team.

You can tell by the name of my blog that I LOVE cats!  They've been cherished family members to my hubby and I over the years.

When I saw this file, I thought this would be a sweet card to make for a friend.

Slip off the cupcake liner to reveal
this sweet saying from Joy's Yummy Puns stamp set.

Here's a closeup of that great stamp!

Packed with fun sentiments, you can grab your own set of Yummy Puns here

To recreate this card using your cutting machine, resize the SVG file so it will fit in a 4.25x5.5 envelope. Add some dry embossing and crystals to make your project sparkle.  I cut the cat out of black paper since it reminds me of my cat, Moonlight.

Maybe he approves.

Well, that's all I have for you today.  I hope you have a great one!  Thank you for taking the time to leave comments.  They mean a lot to me. :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hi, everyone! I've got a fun St. Patrick's day project for you!

I thought since I married into a Bailey family, I ought to post something today to celebrate the occasion!

Here's a fun door hanger to brighten up your day.

When I was cutting this, I thought the pattern was super cute but I think the cuteness factor went way over the top after I added Joy's stamp from her Yummy Puns set!

You can check out Joy's stamps here.  She's also has THREE new sets coming out!  Joy's offering some great pre-order and bundle deals so I hope you'll check them out.

This adorable SVG comes from SVGCuts Charm and Chance set.  I cut it out using Sure Cuts A Lot software and my Cricut.  You can also use your Silhouette with their files.  I resized the file to fit my door knob and added some glitter paper for the shamrock to spice it up a bit.  The banner is a strip of paper that I cut by hand and popped up with some foam tabs.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a safe and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy Birthday, Joy!

Hi, everyone!  Hopefully, you've been able to follow Joy's Design Team lately since we've all been wishing her a Happy Birthday!  Her actual birthday is the 19th but we thought we'd extend the celebration for the entire week!!!

I thought I'd mix a couple of my hobbies for this post.  Here's what I created!

I tell you, my mouth seems to water when I'm crocheting these cupcakes because they look soooo  yummy!!!

The stamp I used is from Joy's Yummy Puns set. Pick up your own set here.

Now for how I made this... I crocheted the cupcake in the round (Amigurumi) and filled the bottom of it with rice and the top with some fiberfill before stitching it shut.  Here's a link to a free pattern that you may want to try.

The "sprinkles" are metallic pins I picked up at my local hobby shop. A Sizzix die cut the tag that I embellished using some colorful ribbon and a super cute Doodlebug cupcake brad.

It may be arriving a little late in the mail for Joy's birthday but I hope she enjoys it when she gets it!

Sundae Card

Hello, everyone!  It's Patty here with an Oldie But Goodie card for you today.  (That is...using stamps from sets released earlier than this year by Joy at JoysLife.com!)

I know I can always use birthday cards so here's what I made using a yummy combination of colors.

For this project, I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Yummy Puns. It is one of my favorites! I used Memento's Bahama Blue ink for the sentiment. (Love that color!)

If you want your own set of Yummy Puns, you can get it here.

I used my Cricut and Birthday Bash to cut the Ice Cream Sundae out at approximately 3.5". The paper is We R Memory keepers Sweet Spot that I found at Archivers. It's die-cut on the edge so I incorporated that into my card.

I embellished the card with hand drawn stitching and fun ribbon. I made 2 cards at a finished size of 4.25" x 6" out of one 12x12 sheet.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my project for the day.  Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments!

Now...do yourself a favor and go get yourself some ice cream! :)

Fun Popcorn Packaging

Hello, everyone!  Glad you could stop by today.

With the holiday season right around the corner, Joy's Design Team is focusing on gift packaging ideas this week. (To see the projects posted so far this week, click here.)

This microwave popcorn packaging is quick and easy to make.  You could throw one of these together for a last minute gift for someone special!

To make this, all you do is cut paper to fit the popcorn pack.  Stamp the saying and mount it with foam tape. (I used Lady Bug ink from Memento.)   I added a little ribbon and Sizzix flowers cut with my Cuttlebug and was finished in no time!

This saying from Joy's Yummy Puns stamp set is so much fun and has lots of uses.  Grab your own set here if you don't have it already.

Let me know if you're going to try out this simple project.  Thanks for stopping by.  I do appreciate it! :)

Watermelon Thank You Cards

Hello, everyone!  I've got another JoysLife.com Design Team project.  This week we are featuring two of her super cute stamp sets : Yummy Puns and Popsicle Puns.

I can always use thank you notes and never have them around when I need them.  I created these simple cards that can be mass produced if need be.

I really like how they came out even though the design is simplistic. These are 3x3 inches finished. Can you believe that I have never made this size of card before?  I do love the small size!

I used Yummy Puns for this project.  Joy just got a bunch back in stock so you can get your own set here.

Now for the details on how I made these:
Cut a card base 3"x6" and fold it in half.  Round the corners and adhere a piece of 2"x3" background paper to the top of the card.   Cut your watermelons to fit the card. (I used my Cameo for this but any watermelon image will do.)  Score the green rind at every interval to add some texture.  Add some Glossy Accents to the seeds.  Tie a bit of twine around the card and through a button.

For the finishing touch, stamp Joy's "Thanks A Melon" saying on the bottom.

That's it!  You'll have a bunch of your own cards made in no time!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments.  I hope you have a great day!

Happy Cake Day Card

*** Scroll down to the previous post to get your comments in for a chance to win at the Fun In The Sun Blog Hop! ***

Hello, everyone!
Today I have for you a Joy's Life DT project.

This week, we are having a blast celebrating birthdays! This is always a fun subject and one that I can never make too many cards for. (I just have to be sure to mail them out in time!) :)

I made what I call a "flap card."

The saying comes from Joy's Yummy Puns stamp set.

Right now, you can get Yummy Puns and her new Pun In The Sun set for a special price and free shipping here!

Here's a side view of the card.  You can see why I call it a flap.

I absolutely LOVE this paper!  It is from TPC Studios and is called Easter Stripes.  The cupcake is from Lettering Delight's Birthday Sparkle file and was cut using my Cameo.  I added some glitter to the flower to spice it up.  The card is 4.25 x 5.5 and I just cut a flap slightly smaller to go over the front of it.  I used my scallop scissors to trim the flap.

I really like the way it turned out.  I think I'm going to make more cards like this.  :)

I hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by & leaving a comment.

My second project are easy cup toppers that were also cut with my Silhouette.

Well Done, Graduate!

 Hello, everyone!

Today I have a quick and easy graduation card for you!
This simple card is great if you are in a crunch to make a graduation card quickly.

It opens up like this.

The stamps come from Joy's Everyday Occasions and Yummy Puns stamp sets. You can get Everyday Occasions  here and Yummy Puns here.

I used the Silhouette Graduation Cap card file for this.  To make it a little elegant, I used gold paper, ink, and embossing powder. (My hubby was happy with this project since these colors were his high school colors.)

That's all I have for today.  I hope you all have a great day!  As usual, any comments are appreciated!
